The Moors or more precisely βMuursβ are the descendants of the ancient Moabites whether by bloodline or discipleship as said by Noble Drew Ali. In his book titled Circle 7 Koran or The Holy Koran of The Moorish Science Temple of America we find on page 3:

we see that he considers the Moslems (Muslims) of northwest and southwest Africa as the Moabites, Hamathites, and Canaanites who were driven out of the land of Canaan by Joshua. Joshua was an Israelite general of the Israelite army who became Commander & Chief after Moses died.
