The Moors or more precisely “Muurs” are the descendants of the ancient Moabites whether by bloodline or discipleship as said by Noble Drew Ali. In his book titled Circle 7 Koran or The Holy Koran of The Moorish Science Temple of America we find on page 3:

In the last paragraph sectioned:

“By the Prophet: NOBLE DREW ALI”

we see that he considers the Moslems (Muslims) of northwest and southwest Africa as the Moabites, Hamathites, and Canaanites who were driven out of the land of Canaan by Joshua. Joshua was an Israelite general of the Israelite army who became Commander & Chief after Moses died.

are more direct in giving you their ancient historical background. Since I advocate that North America contains the true Holy land of the Israelites, including the surrounding nations, then we can get a better sense of where this Moorish community developed from…and wasn’t Africa.

Moab is originally written as “Muab” in Aramaic and Hebrew מואב.

Mu- or -מו meaning “from”

Ab or אב meaning “father”

Total = “From father”

This is because Moab the son of Lot is an inbred as well as his brother Ammon which derives from “Ben or Bir Aymy” meaning “son of my people” (Genesis 19:37-38)

Moor is originally written as Muur and is spelled מוור in Aramaic and Hebrew.
